Whoa. "Gotham" is really something to behold in person. This piece exhibits all of Chris' favorite abstract techniques in one complete work of art. A two tone hand painted background uses colors that are a great contrast and compliment to eachother at the same time. Closer to its surface, Chris has layered paint, pulling it across the canvas, adding depth. Spray paint provides and blends contrasts, and his signature uses of swirling squirts and splatterings add an amazing contrast and focal point, balancing the entire work gracefully. The areas where he uses bubble wrap (another favorite technique of his!) as a painting tool is also evident. "Gotham" will draw attention and fuel discussion, completing any space on its own or standing out in a collection.
