Sidewalk Chalk After Rain

    A friend of mine named this piece for me. I think it fits perfectly. For the background I used a lot of paint and water and a concrete trowel for a smear technique. Pushing paint deep into the canvas and dragging it across gives it almost a water color effect. It really does look like sidewalk chalk after a rain storm. Over the background I used spray paint just for the fun of it. Covering different areas. Sometimes I don't like to just brush on paint. Sometimes I like to throw it. And that's exactly what I did. The colorful splatters give an energy and a life to it. The final touches I used a drip technique, using black, zigzagging across the canvas. It brings the whole piece together. The great thing about this piece is it's versatility. It could go anywhere. A living room, a bedroom, or even an office. To really take it in and appreciate it, you have to see this one in person.

    All my paintings are signed on the back, so you can hang them in any orientation you like. They also come with a varnish topcoat to protect them from harmful UV rays and pollutants.
